In an area filled with sagebrush, this road has some of the best. Sage Sparrow is downright common, as is Sage Thrasher. A few Mountain Plovers breed in the area, though they can be rather hard to find. This road crosses the Rio Grande River on the historic Lobato Bridge, built in 1892 and, thankfully, restored in 2006. Keep an eye out for short-horned lizard and western rattlesnake along the roads in the area.County: Costilla
