Black Birders Week was founded in 2020 to advance diversity and inclusion within the birding and scientific communities, and to celebrate birding as part of the heritage of Black cultures across the globe.

This week, enjoy virtual events on a variety of topics on birding, science, and representation. Events will also cover birding for beginners, the mental health benefits of exploring nature, increasing accessibility to birding spots for people with disabilities, and birds and birding in human culture. Read more and register for virtual events here.

On Saturday, June 4th, Denver Botanic Gardens will host a guided walk at Chatfield Farms. Led by a bird specialist, this is designed for beginners and seasoned birders alike. Register here.

Sign up today and celebrate diversity in the outdoors!
